The Politics in the 'PUNCH' | Oscars 2022 | Will Smith | English Guru Campus

Making all the audience entertained was the task assigned to Chris Rock at the OscarsAnd he carried it forward in a good way. But an unexpected spoonerism that came up during the conversation turned everything upside down. Jada Pinkett, Will Smith's wife, looked at him and said a comment that seemed a little bit inappropriate in a sense. During the presentation of the best documentary prize with a short comedy routine, Rock cracked a joke comparing Jada Pinkett Smith's tightly cropped hair to Demi Moore's appearance in the film "G.I. Jane" and suggesting she appear in a sequel. The heroine in GI Jane had no hair.  Jada, who was being treated for a specific ailment called alopecia, lost all her hair because of it. She publicly revealed her diagnosis in 2018.

Chris Rock's joke made the whole audience laugh and only Jada was sad. Seeing his wife's pale face, Will Smith strode up to Rock and slapped him hard. Until then, all the world-famous filmmakers who had been illuminated at high voltage were silenced for a moment. The whole world is debating whether Chris had to act his age or whether the way Will Smith reacted was the right one.

Even though, sometimes the right way doesn't seem correct as it may be diverting into body shaming. But instead of being harassed, Will Smith would have been more impressed with the award he won if he had stood up in the audience and spoken a couple of words about the political incorrectness in the statement. Salute to Chris' professionalism who continued the event with balance despite realizing that the game was out of hand.

While presenting the next session Sean "Diddy" Combs said "Will and Chris, we're going to solve that like family. Right now we're moving on with love."
