Indrans; The Concealed Genius of MFI | Udal Movie Review by Guru

The Prey and The Hunter; The never-seen-before Indrans; Udal Review

Watch a movie to catch your breath with curiosity about what will happen next. Thrill every scene. Udal, directed by newcomer Ratheesh Raghunandan, gives us that experience. A night hunt inside a house. A life-and-death struggle between a hunter and prey to escape alive. The spectators here are with the hunter, and no one seems to have the slightest sympathy for the victim. This is the theme of the movie Udal.

Kuttichayan is the strongest character played by Indrans after 'Home'. The highlight of the movie is the performance of the child who keeps the ravages of old age under control. If in the first half we see a desperate, helpless child, in the second half we see someone else. It is this extraterrestrial entry that thrills the audience. When we look at the picture we can see how much he struggled to become a child.
Durga Krishna's performance with Indrans is arguably the best role the actress has ever played in her career. Durga was able to keep up with the scenes with Indrans. For Durga to portray this character well, going through the various mental levels of a man. Dhyan did not make his character worse. Dhyan also did a mature performance.

Undoubtedly, Ratheesh Raghunandan was able to perfect the script and direction without the hassle of a beginner. Ratheesh Raghunandan has managed to take the film forward with care and suspense without compromising on the scenes shot in a very small space.

Another highlight is Manoj Pillai's camera and William Francis' background music. Both of them tried their best to keep the mood of the movie. Nishad Yusuf's editing also keeps the film moving.
The film has an A certificate because of its violent scenes. However, it's an unforgettable performance by actor Indrans.
