Pappan is a film that reunites Joshi-Suresh Gopi, the all-time hit combo in Malayalam cinema. After a gap, Suresh Gopi came back with the film Kaval but the film did not create any significant movement at the box office. But the already released trailers of Pappan and Suresh Gopi's words at the promotional events had given hope to the film.
The film moves in a slow rhythm but the director has managed to hold the audience without boring them.
Unlike Suresh Gopi's regular films, this film does not go with long dialogues and action, but the film is completely dressed up in a thriller mood.
Kaniha, Asha Sarath, Swasika, Jewel Mary, Shammi Thilakan, Vijayaraghavan, Tiny Tom and Rahul Madhav have a long cast in the film. Although there are no performances to speak of, the characters that have come are all well-acted. Especially Neethu Pillai's role as a cop.
The background music is the most shared in interacting with the movie audience. Background music is composed by Jakes Bijoy. The screenplay for the film is written by RJ Shan, but Joshi's directorial skills have made the average screenplay better than the story. The cinematography by Ajay David Katchapilly is the only thing that pulls the film back at least a little.
Pappan ends up being a thriller that satisfies the ticket-buying audience. Let this film be a strong comeback for the action superstar who once graced the throne of Malayalam cinema, and let Pappan end the audience' poverty that has been standing in the theaters for some time.
