Eight-year-old Kalyani is a great devotee of Sabarimala Ayyappan. Yet she still has no luck climbing the mountain. Finally, she decides to climb the mountain with her father. Dressed in black and ashes, she, too, went to the palace. Then the unexpected events that occur between her journey to Sabarimala and the character of Swami Unni Mukundan, whom she meets during the journey, take the film forward. The first half is about Kalyani and her relationship with superhero Ayyappan, her family and school comings and goings. There are a lot of emotional scenes and jokes here. The second half is her journey to Sabarimala. Along with her on this journey will be the audience, who are full of enjoyment.

Director Vishnu Sasi Shankar has been able to accurately mark the ingredients of the script and deliver it to the audience in the right amount. The fun of the film is carried by this feature in the direction. Malikappuram's backbone is the freshness of the story and the clarity of the screenplay. The screenwriter Abhilash Pillai gives great hope to the audience through this film. Abhilash's screenplay is what keeps the movie gripping and enjoyable from the beginning.

It must be mentioned that the actor could act without losing the seriousness of this character, which has many features. Devanandana Theater, which was filled to overflowing with Kalyani, is also capturing the hearts of the leaving audience. The youngster is able to reflect her innocent childhood and her devotion with heartwarming acting. Shripad Yan, who has appeared as Kalyani's friend Piyush, is another actor who is getting more applause in the film. This little genius makes the audience laugh a lot. Saiju Kurup's father's character is also the life of the film.
Vishnu Narayanan's cinematography makes the film a viewing experience. Each frame travelled with the film itself. Ranjin Raj's music and background music brought Malikappuram to life.
